What is JellyFish Lighting?JellyFish Lighting is a permanent color-changing LED lighting system for the exterior of homes. It is capable of everything from nightly accent lighting that mimics recessed can lighting to any color and pattern for your holidays and parties. Easily decorate for all occasions like Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Halloween, Birthday Parties, and more!

Can I make my own patterns?Yes, you can! The lights are individually addressable which allows you to choose which lights you want on and what color (over 16 million different colors). We also have 102 preset patterns.

Can I make my own accent lighting?Yes, you can! The lights are individually addressable which allows you to choose which lights you want on and what color (anything from bright to soft white). For example, you can turn on two lights at the top of each peak while the rest of the lights stay off.

Can I save my own timers?Yes, you can save multiple nightly & weekly timers as well as calendar events for holidays and other special occasions. We are linked with weather.com so you can link with sunset to sunrise.

How long does my system last?JellyFish Lighting System is a robust, outdoor rated LED lighting system. LED lighting is known for its durability. Each diode (or puck light) has 3 LED lights which makes them brighter than any of our competitors. The entire system including our controller is rated for 22,000 hours which is about 15-20 years (nightly use of 4 hours). The actual LED lights are rated for even longer at 50,000 hours.

How much will a system cost?Because every home is different, we give a no obligation, free quote. Some homes have simple rooflines and some need a secondary track and are more difficult. You can install on the front, sides, back, patio, pergola, etc. The more feet you have installed the better price per foot. An average on the front is about $4,500. Do remember the lights are permanent, super discreet during the day, long lasting, and can be used for any holiday, event, and accent/security lighting during normal day use. How many different colors & patterns can I make?The lights are RGB and can produce over 16 million different colors. The user can create custom programs and colors, so the possibilities are limitless.

Can I make a soft white color?Absolutely! Our white colors range from: Soft (2-3k), Warm (3-4k), Neutral (4-5k), Cool (5-6.5k), & Cold (6.5-10k).

Can I control the front of my home separately from the back?Yes, we have zoning which allows the ability to only turn on certain sections of lights or to have different patterns on different parts of your home at the same time.

Can I install this myself?Yes, we can sell you materials for a self-installation and provide you with directions on how to install. However, it is a difficult process in which our employee's go thru training to be proficient & knowledgeable at; thus it is something we do not recommend at all.

Do I have to upgrade my hardware to get new features?The controller is a computer that you do not need to purchase anything new to get the newest features. You just do a free update to the app or controller when they are available and you are set. More information on this below. With the P2 system, app updates will happen through your device’s app store. For more information, visit the support page here: https://www.jellyfishlighting.com/support-center/update-controller-firmware/. Controller updates happen occasionally (maybe once or twice a year). The link https://www.jellyfishlighting.com/support-center/update-controller-firmware/ has instructions on how to update your firmware on your controller. App updates are more common and will happen through your device’s app store.

Where are the controller & power supplies mounted?The controller and any additional power supplies are mounted indoors, typically on a wall in your garage safe from the elements. They plug into an outlet. One controller can power up to 300 ft depending on the wiring. From there, we run low voltage wire from your garage to the soffit of the first section of roofing.

What maintenance is required?Like anything, from time to time a light will go out and would need to be replaced.

Are the lights replaceable?Yes. This kind of repair, is covered in your warranty. See your warranty for more information.

How long does installation take?Due to the different variables of each home, we cannot promise a set completion time. Typically though, a smooth installation, should take no more than 1 to 2 work days. Our sales representative & installers will be able to give you a more informed answer at your home.

Where are the lights installed?The lights are installed to the outer part of the soffit behind the fascia or trim facing downward.

How do payments work?Half down is due to schedule an installation date. The other half is due upon completion.

How long has JellyFish Lighting been in business?The inventor of JellyFish Lighting has been working with his color-changing exterior lights since 2011, and under the JellyFish Lighting name since 2016.

Where is JellyFish Lighting made?Our controller is manufactured in our factory in Orem, Utah. Our metal is fabricated locally in Utah, Colorado, and Texas. We employ local USA citizens in all locations. In order to make our product more accessible, we manufacture our lights in Asia.

How much electricity does the system use?The lights on full bright white use less than one watt of power. Also, the controller pulls about 1.1 amps of electricity per 100 feet.

Are the lights dimmable?Yes, they are!

Do we offer landscape or patio lighting?Yes! JellyFish Lighting also produces these products as of 2024.

Is it important that a business is licensed, bonded, & insured?Yes! The state of Washington requires all companies who work with low voltage to have a contracting license. This ensures the company will follow all of the mandated laws. By being bonded, you as the customer, are protected from fraud. Being insured protects you as the property owner yet again, in case an employee gets hurt on the job at your property. All of our installers are in house, this means you as the home owner are covered.

Do HOAs allow this?Yes, the majority of HOAs love our product. There are quite a few things about our product that fall within the guidelines of most HOA’s CC&Rs. The system is discreet, adds security for the home owner, keeps home owners safe, and is dark skies compliant.
